How the calculation works

Yearly cost = average service price × no-shows per week × weeks open per year. The monthly figure is the yearly cost divided by 12. Deposits recovered = deposit × no-shows per week × weeks open, capped at the yearly cost.

This counts lost service revenue only. It leaves out retail sales, tips, and the staff time you still pay for, so your real cost is usually higher.

How do I reduce no-shows?

Combine three things: automated reminders before each appointment, a deposit at booking for longer or high-value services, and a clear cancellation window that clients see before they book. A deposit turns a no-show from a total loss into a partial one.
